The gaming industry is one of the biggest to date, with supporters and followers from across the globe . But when it comes to modified or "modded" equipment, what is the best controller modification there is?

Every custom "modder" (a person who modifies software or hardware) has to start somewhere, and as is most often the case, they start with modifying how a gadget or a piece of the hardware looks. Consoles and controllers are tested prior to opening them for the public, but there are a few things that only the dedicated gamers can find. For this reason, performance mods are also available, even for controllers, though this kind of modification will require serious expertise and knowledge for all of the things involved.

One successful performance modifier is the Avenger controller, a controller casing for the Xbox and the PlayStation that remaps the XYAB buttons to be controlled by hair triggers positioned for the index and middle fingers of both the left and the right hands. The company behind it claims that the controller effectively cuts down lag issues when it comes to reflex and reactions required for fast-paced FPS or first-person shooting-type games.

It comes in two models (one for the Xbox and another for the PlayStation) and is available for everyone for a price of $50. Online reviews and gaming blog sites have praised the controller's performance, despite jokingly calling the design as something like a spider eating a controller. So in the case of being the best controller modification in terms of performance and looks, the Avenger controller comes out above average; possibly higher, since it does its job in the performance department exceedingly well.
