Earlier this 2012, gamers were pleasantly surprised with the unveiling of the Avenger controller. It is a new Xbox 360 and PS 3 modification controller that promises to reduce, if not completely eliminate, reaction and reflex lags - and that of course would mean better performance and gaming experience. It is a controller case that houses the original console controllers, but remaps the buttons (other than the joysticks) to be hair triggers controlled by the index and middle fingers of both hands.
Online reviews have lauded this new toy for the big boys , but as it comes with an expensive $50 price tag, it is understandable why some gamers might have second thoughts about getting one for themselves. That being said, who are the people who are most likely to benefit from this product?
1: People with Disabilities
Necessity is the grandmother of invention, so they say, and the Avenger controller is the same. The revolutionary gaming equipment was purportedly originally intended for those with disabilities that hinders them from enjoying what most people enjoy on a regular basis-that is, killing zombies and blasting enemy troops to bits.
As the Avenger tosses out the age-old gaming tradition of button mashing, people with partial nerve loss in their hands could still fire ammo rounds by using flicks of their fingertips.
This controller will also work well for people with carpal tunnel syndrome, a nerve problem wherein there is weakened or complete absence of strength in handgrip. Most gamers will usually tense up during game play, causing them to squeeze the controller reflexively, causing pain and sometimes, even more nerve damage. As the Avenger opens up the hand by using idle fingers, players can be more relaxed, and gripping issues are resolved.
2: Professional Gamers
Is there such a thing as a professional gamer? Yes, yes there is. Countries like Korea, Japan, and even the USA pay gamers to compete and win in national and international gaming tournaments.
These players need all the advantage they can get, and boy, does the Avenger controller give them that kind of advantage. With a reduced lag time between reflex and response, fires and kills can be triggered almost instantaneously.
3: Gamers with the Money to Spare
Should professional gamers have all the fun? Certainly not, more so since this modification controller can be bought by anyone and everyone. Of course, there is the issue about the hefty price tag that comes with it, though...
But if a player is an avid collector, or a serious gaming enthusiast, especially for first-person shooters or shoot 'em up genres, then getting one for the Xbox 360 or the PS 3 (a different model is available for the different consoles) is a great personal investment.
These are the top 3 people who should definitely get the Avenger controller. Game on!
