You may wonder, what do Apple stock, Steve Jobs, Sir Isaac Newton and Mark Twain have in common? The short answer is....ME! :)
They have as much the same as to the answer why I started my own blog here with the Empower Network - I began blogging for the Motley Fool this last August - I had fun with it and they even syndicated my first two stories.
I was publishing under my pseudonym, Riese Jones. Unfortunately, between countless edits from the editor - the wait in publishing, and the rejection of my next two stories I spent about 12 hours writing - I decided it was not worth the $50 they would reimburse me if they decided to syndicate my stories. I can certainly do much better than a one time payment with my own blog and still keep my intellectual creativity without an editor asking me to change things up or add different stock tickers to my post...yes...FREEDOM!
I can say I actually predicted the rise of Apple stock to over $700 and then its fall - Apple stock closed this week at just over $527.
Apple Stock: Steve Jobs, Sir Isaac Newton, and Mark Twain - All Geniuses in Their Own Right
Below you can see some of my comments with regard to Steve Jobs, Mark Twain, and Sir Isaac Newton - from my Motley Fool article syndicated on August 26th, 2012 with relation to the over value of Apple stock:
" I think it has more to do with the death of Steve Jobs which has never been priced into the stock. The man was a genius, an innovator, a once in a generation leader and visionary – he cannot be replaced."
"Steve Jobs' vision, accomplishments, and the products he created have changed our world – touched all our lives by changing the way we work and play. Steve Jobs made the personal computer just what it promised to be but was lacking before him – he made it 'personal.' The innovative, stylish, slick, sleek, clean designs he created revolutionized computers, music, and cell phones. He didn't invent many of these devices or operating systems – he made them fun, user-friendly, and mainstream."
Apple Stock: Steve Jobs, Sir Isaac Newton, and Mark Twain
"It was the great writer Mark Twain who said, 'History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme.' This quote plays true with Apple. When Steve Jobs was ousted removed from his leadership role at Apple by the CEO, John Scully, and Apple's Board of Directors in the Spring of 1985 (which eventually led to Steve Jobs leaving the company that summer) – Apple stock finished the year around $22 per share. Yes, there were ups and downs in the stock price until Steve Jobs' return to Apple as the CEO in 1997, but the stock price closed in August of 1997 around $21.75. In other words, if you held Apple stock from Steve Jobs' exile until his return – you would not have made any money. As they say, the rest is history – with the stock now trading in the high $600's and knocking on the door of $700. Now you know quantitatively – in dollars – the value of Steve Jobs' leadership."
"The force of gravity will win out in the end. Sir Isaac Newton would be proud to know we still think of him every time we see a falling apple. Steve Jobs – we will think of you whenever we see a truly innovative, hip, mainstream, user-friendly, and beautiful "must have" consumer electronics masterpiece. I pay tribute to Steve Jobs' leadership and ability to execute on his vision.
Steve – you will be missed. History is about to rhyme Mr. Twain."
In the end, Apple stock did plummet (I wrote another article predicting some of the issues which "could come up" which was never published or syndicated by the Motley Fool - still on my blog there but as the old adage goes, "If a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it, did it make a noise" - without broadcasting publicly it was not widely read.)

You should read some of the comments at the bottom of the article - a lot of hate mail with regard to my prediction - some of it quite funny and amusing. :)
