What You Need to Know Before You Implement Your Social Media Marketing Plan
When beginning into the realm of Facebook pay-per-click advertising, if you don't know precisely what you're doing, even when you get your advertisements accepted, you can still get completely mugged with absolutely nothing to show for it.
Inside is a cautionary tale of one guy (read: me) who used a crappy, incomplete social media marketing plan to get leads quick for his home based business, and actually got them ... but at what expense?
Right here's the large complication: even if people like your advertisement ... even if they click on it for more details ... even when they like what they see so much that they choose to opt in to your capture web page ... there is still a huge chance that no matter how numerous of those leads you get, there is still a really real chance that you will still end up with precisely no sales, and as a result no dollars, in your bank account, leaving you with nothing but a fat bill payable to Facebook.

For a guy just beginning with his very first, and very flawed, social media marketing plan most seasoned veterans of the business would certainly've considered the quantity of leads that I got to be catastrophically low. But for me, it was a full-on success. Since all it would've taken for me to recover any loss on any of my advertising up to that point would certainly have been just one sale.
The capture web page and sales funnel were produced by two of the best, most influential humans in the internet marketing game. There was no way I could not out of all of that, at least get ONE SALE to make it all rewarding ... or so I thought. After all the action, after all of the excitement, after all was said and done, not one single person who saw the details actually pulled out their credit card and bought anything that I was offering. I was badly irritated and confused.
A Social Media Marketing Plan I SHOULD 'VE Followed From the Beginning
After sulking, screaming, and crying like a 7 year old girl (okay, not really, but I was still mad, dammit) I spoke with my buddy & business partner Morgan, and he set out for me an absolutely solid social media marketing plan to actually draw in the people who will actually get what it is I'm offering ... by actually targeting a more ... well, targeted demographic.
Right here's the social media marketing plan he laid out for me:
1. Target less than 2,000 people â My special self was targeting over 120,000 people from I think 6 different nations. I didn't care as long as they were from a place that spoke English. Oops ...
2. Target one group at a time, i.e. People who like Richard Branson, NOT people who such as 5 different gurus - I broke this guideline very, really hard. In retrospect, thinking I was being super selective I targeted people who were kinda in the exact same specific niche, but not really. D'oh, once more.
3. If your one target has a lot of fans, break them out into as many groups as possible based off of age and/or gender to get the number down to under 2,000 â Do everything required to get that group number as close to 2,000 as feasible. The smaller sized the group you have, the simpler it gets to test different specific audiences when you're finished with the first run, so you can see who best responded to your advertisement.
This helps for a couple factors:
1. Less people clicking your ads that have serve no function other than ensuring they help you offer as much cash to Facebook as possible ...
2. More exposure to the same people. Typically it takes around 7 exposures for somebody to truly take enough notice to observe what you need to offer.
4. Split test the images, THEN split test the text - Do not split test them both at the same time. Once again, how do you understand what IS and IS NOT working is you change numerous things at once?
I hadn't made it to this point when my friend coached me, but good words to obey.
5. If the advertisement falls to.1 or under, kill it â At that certain point in time only one of my ads ever made it this high. Again, when creating and implementing a social media marketing plan, I was a full noob.
6. Wash, Rinse, Repeat â This probably needs no explanation.
BONUS! Pay close attention to who is reacting best to your advertisement - If Females, age 40-51 are clicking the most, then go find more of those ladies ...
If you have not done anything with any kind of social media marketing plan, then this checklist is most definitely a fantastic starting point. I have actually thrown many a dollar at Facebook and came out empty handed due to the fact that I didn't know these straightforward, fundamental things. Do not make the errors I made. Take this list and with newfound confidence promote the hell out of whatever it is that you're offering, with a little less uncertainty than you could have had before.
