Profitable Cooperation
Cooperation is essential to the completion of any endeavor. Even a drive to the local supermarket requires it. You are cooperating with other drivers by following the rules of the road, and hoping that they extend the same courtesy in return. Obviously some trust is also involved. This particular type of cooperation, when violated, results in so much hassle and tragedy. Simple cooperation not only makes things flow smoothly, it saves the day.
Cooperation is critical in so many ways in our everyday lives. One area in which cooperation is often overlooked is in the attainment of our goals. I'll give you a perfect example. Almost every New Year's Day people make resolutions. We resolve to increase our income, or to lose weight, or to finally put a new roof on our house. Whatever the resolution, we often fail to act on these seemingly beneficial good intentions, and in failing to act, we fail to attain. But why might someone set a reasonably good goal for something he might really want and then never do anything to successfully get it?
Countering Cooperation Leads to Failure
I don't really think that people set goals with the intention of failing. I think that they mostly really want what they want; at least they want it superficially. Not to say that the people themselves are superficial, but rather, I think that their desires simply don't go to their hearts. This may seem strange to the person who really believes that he wants something. Of course he wants it; the only problem is, inside his mind, maybe even without his knowing, he doesn't believe he can have it. Maybe he doesn't think he deserves it. So all the while on the outside he's saying, "Yeah, that's great; I want that!" on the inside he's saying, "Yeah right, as if, that'll never happen." This inner conflict is a lack of cooperation between the conscious mind and the person's beliefs. The great problem is that the person's subconscious mind takes on that person's beliefs as rote and makes that set of beliefs a cold firm reality.
This conflict, truly a conflict between a person's conscious and subconscious minds, is at the heart of just about every human failure; however, as with all conflict, there is a way toward resolution. Cooperation is the solution, how to go about it?. I like to think of problem solving in terms of good, better and best rather than right of wrong, because although lots of different ways of doing things exists, not every way works for every person, and if I think a way is not good, I may be completely wrong in asserting that it won't work for you, because it just might. It just may not be the fastest or best route.
Fighting your own inner mind is a possible way to accomplish your goal, but how sane is it to fight yourself? Another name for this process is willpower. I read a long time ago that willpower is better described as "won't power" because the conflict it creates almost always pushes you away from the your intended goal. Use willpower if it works for you, but there may be a better way.
A better approach is to fix an idea in your mind that is associated with your goal, but causes no conflict between your conscious and subconscious minds. Let's say that you want perfect health. If someone is suffering with an illness, saying "I am in perfect health" may cause a conflict between the conscious and subconscious because the inner reaction says that is a lie, which causes a continued focus on the illness. If you want perfect health, saying to yourself "I feel better today" imparts the energy of positive focus without contradicting any problem you might be dealing with at the time. Follow your medical practitioner's advice while you do this. Perhaps you want to improve your finances. Concentrating on the good things that you have and the good resources around you and tying them to the concept of wealth improves your mental energy. Every time that you do an activity that you associate with wealth, tie the experience to the feeling of wealth. These exercises effect cooperation between the conscious and subconscious minds because they don't result in a contradiction, and instead produce a positive influence on the subconscious mind.
Passing positive messages to the subconscious mind is the backbone of this process. This is because the subconscious mind, having good input to work on, goes on to produce desirable manifestations in your life. Bear in mind, this process may take time because you've probably spent years giving your subconscious mind negative messages, but aren't you and your quality of life worth it? Only you can answer that, but I think you are.
How about another method of cooperation so that better things manifest in your life?
How do you feel when you see someone else who has the good things that you desire? It's very important that you feel good about the success of others. Envy and jealousy are negative emotions and imprint negativity on your own subconscious mind. You must feel good about the accomplishments of others. You cannot wish well upon another without also benefitting. Why? Because the good you send out gets impressed upon your subconscious mind, which produces the object of its focus. By the same token, when you wish ill upon another that ill wish and its associated negativity is impressed on your subconscious mind, which produces ill effects in your life as a result. This is why our elders advised us to try to be on good terms with all people.
Cooperation and the Golden Rule
This is also why what you send out comes back to you, or what goes around comes around, also known as the Golden Rule. You are imprinting what you send out on your subconscious mind. You just have to be aware of what you are sending. If you say one thing, but believe another, it is your beliefs that will be made manifest. You must be in harmony with yourself and bring your mind into harmony with your desires. This brings us full circle because if you successfully condition yourself to your desire, but you curse another for having what you seemingly lack, you negate your own wish and pollute your own energy; consequently, what you seek remains lacking. Don't trouble yourself with envy or jealousy. What another has accomplished you may also through positive focus, proper us of your imagination and inspired action. Inspired action simply means acting on the action cues from within, or from the Universe.
Attaining your desires relies on cooperation. Bringing you into cooperation with yourself is well worth the effort.
