An Article Marketing Strategy That Works

When I first got online about 5 years ago article marketing and more important, having an effective article marketing strategy in place was really all the rage. Nowadays there are loads of people, and I'm not one of them, who say article marketing is dead! What the heck! Does it still work or not?

It still works but not just like it did before, unless of course you were one of the few who cared about your content and submitted decent articles to decent directories and authority sites.

If you spent your time spinning articles that end up unreadable, and using submission tools to 'blast' your articles to thousands of worthless sites, then this will not be working quite as well for you now. Notice I didn't say it wouldn't work, it just won't work anyway near as well as it did before.

So is article marketing and having an article marketing strategy still a viable option for web masters wanting more traffic to their sites. Well to be honest that will depend on what your overall marketing strategy is! If you are planning on implement SEO, search engine optimization, as your primary marketing strategy, then, you most certainly do need to have your article marketing strategy in place.

If you are into SEO, then you already know the value of back links to your main site, and you should also know the value of backlinking your back links. So you need these article directory links, from quality sites, to boost your main website rankings.

So this is why we really must do our best to have decent content on decent sites that will give us the quality back links we must have to win the battle of the search engines.

I have to be honest I did try one of the favorite mass article submitters and even had some spun content to send out but it wasn't successful. After one week of daily automatic submission to about 300 sites I checked my links and only 41 links where found. It sounds good submitting to what could have been 1500 site in a week but to end up with only 41 actual submissions certainly wasn't worth the effort.

Does That Mean We Can't Automate?

Of course we can, and indeed we must if we want to leverage our time effectively, but it must be a quality submission service that approves all articles before distribution. Submit Your Articles is one of the best, and is the one I use as part of my article marketing mix.

By all means spin your content before distributing it but there is no quick way to do this. There is not a single article spinner out there that will spin and produce readable articles at the press of a button.
