Myth 1. Satisfied customers are more prone to write reviews than unsatisfied ones.

Just like word of mouth in action, dissatisfied customers find every reason to share their frustrations. In today's world, it makes more sense to talk about a bad experience than a good one. While consumer reviews are also avenues for praising a product, they are also mediums for its downfall. In ordinary encounters, you do not sit with your friend and tell him that you called your bank and had the best customer experience of all. The same applies for reviews where most people find their reasons for ranting .

Myth 2. The lower a product's price is, the higher the tendency to post a consumer review.

While price is an appealing reason for consumers to make that purchase, consumer reviews does not consider it as the core reason for a positive or for a negative posting about a product. A product's quality prompts individuals to utter how they feel on reviews. Quality in this context is interpreted as low and high. While low quality products are understandably prone to negative reviews, the opposite is observed for high quality products.

Myth 3. The more popular a product is, the more it causes consumer reviews to be generated.

One factor in every experience of expressing feelings about something is emotion. People who bought a product because of a perceived emotional effect are more likely to express how they feel than those who do not. In most instances, our preferences are directed by our emotions. We do not buy out of random tendencies . Even buying on impulse is a response to sudden favorable emotions. A product's popularity is not responsible for its causing to be reviewed. It is how a person feels about it.

Myth 4. The more consumer reviews are found for a product, the more accurate it is.

There are a lot of resources for reviews to be read. A number of websites have been established to host reviews in the same way as magazines are being published with the same information. If a product catches too much attention, it does not necessarily mean it creates a buzz among reviewers. More importantly, strength in numbers does not mean unquestionable consistency. After all, what is using the product for?

Myth 5. Consumer reviews that are offered for a reward are more reliable than those that are not.

When you are offered a bar of the chocolate you love, or if you are given a free movie pass to provide a positive review on something, would not that be motivating? Although what you may say is true of the product, you may be a source of biased information when you say something too positive. After all, the best reviews come as products of critical thinking. No, the information gathered from this type of review solicitation is not from those who provided it, but from the advantages offered.
