The last tip is to never operate the sander or make repairs while on medication, drugs or drinking alcohol. Unpredictable behavior of being under the influence is not a good idea around such a powerful tool. It can cause severe injuries or worse if something went wrong while using it.

It should never be used for wet sanding or the liquid might get inside of the motor housing which will cause damage and possibly, electric shock. In fact, the invasive liquid may ruin the motor and you would have to look through the belt sander parts for a new motor to replace it.
