People with oily skin tend to have acne breakouts and clogged pores. The market has plenty of skin care products but some of them worsen oily skin as they have ingredients that irritate the skin and clog the pores. The good news is there are products that are formulated for a skin type that produces too much oil.
There are skin care products which have balancing oil to control oil production. Such balancing oil has noncomedogenic oils which should be massaged on the face. This will make the skin believe that it has enough amount of oil thus there is no need to produce more. Balancing oil can minimize clogged pores.
There are products that can fight acne as they have salicylic acid that minimizes oil production and dries breakouts. These come in moisturizers, toners, facial powders, blush, concealers and foundations. There are also benzoyl peroxide creams of low concentration which can minimize production of oil thus preventing clogged pores and acne breakout. The ideal concentration of this cream should be 2.5% or lower.
There are also natural remedies for oily skin. One of them is tomato as it is enriched with Vitamins C and A. Vitamin C protects the skin from free radicals and tightens pores. Vitamin A controls the skin's oil secretion. When the pores are tightened, this will minimize the production of oil on the face. Get a slice of tomato and apply this on the face, especially on the affected areas. Leave it on for half an hour and then wash off with warm water. To close the pores, cool water must follow.
Other natural skin care products that act as astringents are witch hazel and cucumber. They both refine and tighten the pores and eliminate excess oil on the skin. To come up with a treatment for oily facial skin, get several slices of cucumber and put them inside a jar. Get cups of both water and witch hazel each and pour these on the cucumbers. Seal the jar and refrigerate it. After an hour, get the cucumber slices and spread them on the face until they dry. After a quarter of an hour, rinse the face with water. This homemade astringent can be used for up to seven days as long as it is refrigerated.
Another natural skin care product is the Vitamin B-enriched brewer's yeast. Vitamin B keeps the skin clear and healthy and controls the production of oil when applied topically. Get one and a half teaspoon of water and mix it with two and a half teaspoons of brewer's yeast. Make a sticky paste and with a clean and small paintbrush, apply and let it stay on the face for a quarter of an hour before washing off. Skin impurities and excess oil will be removed while oil production in the future will be controlled.
Oily skin can be very bothersome and can lower one's self-confidence as it makes the skin have acne breakouts. Try these skin care products mentioned to control the skin's oil production.
