With the electronic age, printing resumes are no longer necessary at all. Instead, applicants should simply create one copy to bring to the interview in the event that they are called.

Of course, these aren't the only outdated resume writing practices today. Even the wordings and jargons used for application changed. For example, terms such as "goal-oriented" or "team-player" are so overused that employers no longer find them attractive . Additionally, cover letters no longer necessitate a completely formal approach. Instead, employers appreciate cover letters that are more informal as they give a glimpse of who the person is .
