Passion for photography has consistently been a driver in my career - wedding photography has become my line of work. In approximately twenty seasons of endeavor with a focus on wedding events, mainly wedding receptions in Italy, I am still interested by the diversity and differences in couples and their Guests at a wedding function.

In some cases it's the magnificent landscapeses which make all things so very special and trigger sensations and feelings, other times it's the uncontrollable cocktail of individuals with the bride and groom.

The possibility to take literally thousands of photographes during a wedding reception give me the potential to look into and expose the character of a person, a state of mind in a distinct moment.

But wedding ceremonies and wedding photography were not part of my career when I started and first approached the camera. Even today I can wonder to locations and make a shoot of the Tuscan countryside or organize to encounter someone and shoot an ensemble of photos.

Recently, while I was reorganizing my analog repository (my beloved and never forgotten negatives). I found work I did in 1995 on the most important Italian poets. Still now I treasure the recollections of these unbelievable individuals: Mario Luzi, Attilio Bertolucci, Giovanni Giudici, Edoardo Sanguineti ... and others.

Artists are revered, as Moravia said while remembering Pasolini, "it's the man that dreams of being all men", as Borges said referring to Whitman, "it's the prince of clouds with its giant's wings" to quote Baudelaire.

Photography is a small thing compared to poems, I was part of their time flow and captured a few moments of their daily lifes.

Mario Luzi. The eyes are everything and more within this photo.
I don't know why but often the intellectual is photographed almost from behind, turned towards the light immersed in his reading or meditation. I took his photos here in his house on the terrace in Florence: The posture of his arm, almost in defense or protection, suggests an imperious shyness.

Attillio Bertolucci
At home in Via Carini (Rome) in the Monteverde district, where Pasolini used to visit him, as he loved bear in mind. The "punctum", evidently not so noteworthy, is the jar in the background. The sense of waiting is stirring.

Edoardo Sanguineti. Lively, ironic, curious, amused. He Posed without taking himself too seriously, as it was in his expressive style.
