Just about inside any person's house, more often than not there is at least one familiar object on one of its walls. Any kind of person would definitely have one installed in his or her house in order to make it as complete as it could ever be. Strictly speaking, this strange attachment just happens to be one of the most popular appliances of today: the air conditioner. The air conditioner is one of those cooling systems that have made homes time and time again as cool as a midmorning breeze. With the innovations of today, modern science has allowed the cooling systems of this generation to cool up every single corner of the house. With that, it is important to identify the two most common types of air conditioners based on the way on how it allows cool air to circulate inside the house.
The first type of air conditioning system is the forced-air system. The forced air system is a common attachment to most cooling systems because of its simple, yet convenient mode of operation to cool the whole house. This kind of cooling system allows the central cooling device to distribute cool air throughout the halls of the home with the use of a blower. This blower system forces the cool air to run through a complex connection of aluminum ducts, which connects every room in the establishment. Based on the principles of heat transfer taught by elementary science teachers, warm air most certainly moves towards cool air, and in this case the warm air flows through the metal ducts that in effect evenly distribute the temperature inside multiple rooms simultaneously. This system is commonly referred to as the cold air return system, which is a completely new innovation by certain engineers of special mention. Fortunately, the central system that controls the flow of this cooled air is entirely adjustable. If the owner of the air conditioning system prefers it, he or she may choose to either increase or decrease the volume of air that circulates inside his or her house. Although this system seems convenient, this kind does not warrant complete functionality without disadvantages. The most common problem associated with this kind of cooling system is the noise that the blower creates. On top of that, the blower consumes a huge amount of resources, specifically fuel or electricity. Therefore, these kinds of cooling systems may be commonly preferred by rich people.
The last kind of cooling system is the passive ground source based cooling. In this kind of cooling system, holes are drilled on the ground, which allows cool air from underground rock formations to flow towards the interior of one's homes, provided that the surface below the homes are stable. The most notable advantage of the passive ground source based cooling system is that it is totally energy efficient. It does not require electricity to cool the house, and that the attachment of blowers is not required. However, the process of drilling holes on the ground and other related projects are undeniably costly.
For those who are interested on making their homes naturally cool, considering these cooling systems may be a good start.
