No matter where a person lives, no matter what environment he grew up in, no matter what things he used to believe, when a person becomes a Christian, he forgets all those things and become a totally new person. He becomes a whole new person that has died of his sins and now living under the grace of God. When a person reaches this point of change, then he is deemed to be a Christian.

But a person's Christianity does not end in himself. It is every Christian's mission to create disciples of Jesus Christ. The word disciple means follower. A person who believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God, sent from heaven to die for our sins and rose again to sit at the right hand of God is a Christian. From the time he genuinely believes that and start living the life that Jesus said as evidenced in the Bible, he becomes a disciple of Jesus Christ.

As a disciple or a follower, it is the duty of a Christian to bring more followers to Jesus. This is in keeping with two commandments. One is found in Matthew 28:19, to wit: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit;" and also, the one found in Matthew 22:37, to wit: ... "Love your neighbor as yourself.

The 1st abovementioned commandment is a commission from Jesus to spread the word of God all over the world so that there would be more followers that will live the life that Jesus Christ wants everyone to live. This is a life with no worries, filled with love and a life where the priority is to love and serve the Lord. He wants people to live their lives free from hate, wants, from selfishness, from immorality , and from other things the oppress people and hinder them from living their lives to the fullest.

The fist mentioned commandment above is a commission not only for a person but for the whole church. Whenever Christians gather together, they do so to discuss the Word of God and to praise and worship Him in chorus and in harmony. But as a church, they should not be confined in their own selves. As a church, they should uphold the commandment to make disciples of all nations. This commission is responsible for having all the churches around the world, even in suburbs like Reseda in Los Angels, California. If not for the other churches that listened to this commandment, many places do not get the privilege of gathering with their fellow Christians at least once a week.

A Christian is also required to follow the second greatest commandment, and that is to love one's neighbor as himself. With this commandment, one should show the greatest form of love to his neighbor, and that is to introduce to him the goodness of Jesus Christ.
