Over active bladder (OAB) is a form of urinary incontinence. It basically refers to a person who has an unexpected and very critical need to urinate, even if they are only releasing a small amount of urine. If this is the case, then the doctor would have no choice but to prescribe medication for the problem. Some of these drugs include solifenacin, darifenacin and oxybutin. Injections also work by blogging signals coming from the wall and would usually last for several months. If nothing else works, a surgery might be necessary. However, this is usually a last option and is saved for severe cases.

Although mild urinary leakage may not be felt by other people, it is still emotionally destabilizing to the sufferer. This is why doctors encourage sufferers to have the condition diagnosed and treated as soon as possible. Overtime, the condition can become worse and may result to public discomfiture. In some cases, OAB can even cause problems with sexual activity. The good news is that the over active bladder can be treated, especially when addressed early on .
