The Sea Touch is more than just an beautifully-designed watch; it is also an important device can help save your life when you re out at sea. One of the newest T-Touch watch models, the Sea Touch is made to Tissot s exacting standards, from the stainless steel case to the wide variety of useful features. And like all T-Touch watch models, it features Tissot s revolutionary touch-screen technology that allows you to easily access the many features handily without having to manipulate knobs on the dial. Let s examine some of the features of this great T-Touch watch.
Compass. The Sea-Touch acts as a compass when you press two o clock on the touch screen. When in compass mode, the minute hand becomes the compass needle, indicating true North. And when in compass mode the digital inset displays the Azemuth, or the angle between the heading (12 o clock) and North (minute hand). You can also calibrate the compass by pressing the knob at the two o clock position on the dial and turning the watch around by more than a complete revolution while it is on a level horizontal surface, at a speed of around thirty-degrees per second for no more than twenty seconds.
Thermometer. You can access this feature on the Sea-Touch by touching four o clock on the touch screen. When activated, the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius is displayed on the LCD window. However, you will have to take it off your wrist to get an exact reading. When used during diving, however, the watch in thermometer mode will display the water temperature and will not be influenced by your body temperature. You can change the reading from Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice-versa by pressing the knob at the four o clock position.
Dive mode. You can use this feature to record information about your dives in the Sea-Touch s internal logbook. When in Dive mode, the elapsed time of the dive is displayed on the LCD screen, the minute hand shows the dive depth in feet or meters on the bezel and the hours hand indicates dive speed in feet per minute or meters per minute on the dial. However, the longest dive time that can be indicated is three hours and the highest diving depth is 59 meters (189 feet). The Dive mode can be activated manually by pressing the knob at three o clock or starts automatically when the depth limit of 1.40 meters (4.5 feet) is reached. The touch screen is deactivated while the watch is underwater although you can access the backlight, compass and thermometer functions by pressing the knobs on the dial.
Chronometer. This feature is accessed by pressing ten o clock on the screen and can measure up to 99:59:59 as well as 99/100th of a second. It also has a split-time function that allows you to display partial times while the chronometer is still running.
It should be noted that, while the Sea Touch provides readings that are as accurate as possible, it is not intended to replace a good professional diving computer and should act only as a backup device.
