A gas dryer will save 15 or 20 cents on one load of laundry it dries, so you can do the math: you will make up the extra fifty dollar cost of a gas dryer in 250 loads. You probably do about 5 loads of laundry a week if your family includes 4 or 5 people, so you ll make up the extra cost of a gas dryer in less than a year.

Some gas dryers have different features than others. The more money you have in your budget, the more extras you can get on your gas dryer. An automatic shut off feature uses an internal sensor to decide when clothes are dry and cuts off the gas dryer at that time, saving even more because you won t be using natural gas one moment longer than necessary.
