A lot of thin guys also think that just because they are thin, they can get away with skinny shirts and tees. Clingy tops will only emphasize a person's figure, which a thin guy really doesn't want. Instead, he may opt to wear a fitted but not clingy shirt so that the ribcage with bones sticking out can be hidden. Stretchy materials are a no-no. On the other hand, shirts that are too big will make a thin man look like he is swimming in the shirt. Fit is everything in men's apparel, even for thin people.

Jackets can also make or break your look. Aside from the light padding as mentioned earlier, the right length is also important. A thin guy wearing a jacket that is too short will only accentuate his skinny waist. On the other hand, a jacket that is too long will make him look like the jacket is out to smother him. Finding the right length, which should be right under the butt, is imperative.

Alas, there are also thin men who love wearing skinny pants and trousers with pleats. These will only serve to trick the eye into following the vertical orientation, which is disadvantageous for thin men.
