Most players take golf lessons in order to get more distance out of their shots. This aspect of the game is very important especially if you are playing on very wide golfing fields. To make sure that you increase the distance of your shots, be sure to do the following:
Every golf lesson always starts with the grip, because that is where golf really starts. When gripping the club, make the palm of your dominant hand touch the shaft while only the fingers of your non-dominant hand are touching it. The non-dominant hand should be closer to the tip of the club (the one that's nearer to you and farther from the ball) while the dominant hand should have its first three knuckles (index, middle, and ring fingers' knuckles) revealing outward. The palms of both hands should be opposite one another.
When doing the backswing, the right shoulders should get out of the way. The backswing must be done around, not upward and not downward. The knee opposite the ball should remain flexed but solid and that should also be the same side where most of your weight is currently poised. Once you have swung around, your back must be facing the target.
As you begin to release the swing, your knees should be beginning to point towards the target. This will guide the rest of your body to correctly hit the target.
Your club head should remain on the same path. The greater the angle of your turn, the stronger your swing will be.
As you begin to transfer the weight that was placed on your side opposite of the target, both of your knees should be evenly flexed and your weight start to feel even on both sides. The knee closer to the target should begin to swing towards your back as the weight begins to be distributed towards your side that is facing the target.
You must learn how to keep your non-dominant arm long without it having to be tensed. Most golf lessons would simply say that you should relax this arm. There is also another technique to do this is which is by aiming for a swing that will not only hit the target ball, but also through that ball.
The greater the width of the club head you are using, the greater the distance that ball could reach.
All the force you have accumulated starting from the downswing, to the backswing, and up to the even distribution of the weight on both sides will now be released at this point. As the club begins to approach the ball, begin to straighten your dominant hand. By the time that your club has passed through the ball, your dominant hand should now be straightened and your back should finally be facing the area where your target is originally at.
