Curl Ups
On a level floor, lie down on your back with your knees bent such that your feet are flat on the floor.
Raise your chin up to your chest and bring it as close to your chest as possible.
- Take a deep breath while reaching your hands to your knees.
- Exhale and raise your shoulders from the floor.
- Return to your original position.
- Make 5 to 8 repetitions for every set.
You can begin doing this exercise when you think that you have gathered enough strength to workout. When you feel more comfortable , you can fold your hands on your chest while doing the exercise.
Scissor Kicks
While lying down on the floor, have your legs stretched all the way out.
Put your hands at the back your butt cheeks and then push your lower back into the floor.
Keeping your legs stretched, raise your right leg about 8 to 10 inches from the ground.
While doing the above, you should be able to feel some stretching in your abdominal muscles.
Keep your leg in that position for 2 counts before returning to the original position.
While returning to the original position, bring your left leg up in the same way; hold it there for 2 counts and return to the original position.
- This is a single count.
- Make 10 repetitions and when you have felt more comfortable, increase it to 16.
- Side Crunches
Lift your legs up while lying down on your back on the floor.
Then, bend your knees at right angles with the floor.
Put your hands at the back of your head and crunch.
As you crunch up, turn yourself to the sides bringing your left elbow to your right knee and then your right elbow to your left knee.
- Be sure that you have turned completely to your side while doing the crunches.
- Go back to the original position while bringing yourself down.
- Make 20 repetitions for each set and do 3 sets of this.
