At 70, looking back at his life, a man is full of regrets. He retires from a multi-national corporation as Vice President, enjoying a good pension plan, finally having the time and freedom to travel the whole world as he has always dreamed and imagined him doing after retirement, except that he does not have the energy to do so. He could not retire earlier because he wanted to finish his career as Vice President and it was not given to him until a couple of years ago. The pension plan is different for Vice Presidents and he wanted that pension for his family. He regrets it that he had to be very old before he gets that position but more than regret, he blames himself for it. He spent the first 15 years of his life being a secretary and another 10 years of his life being the lowest ranking employee and another five years to get promoted to a higher position and 20 more years to get to where he is now - all because people didn't trust his ability because he did not have a college degree.

Being able to finish college courses is important towards attaining success. It is important because the competition is very stiff that a non degree holder will be competing against those who have one, those who have a masteral degree, or those who are doctors of a particular study. It is very challenging to get ahead of these people but is not impossible. In the scenario above, the man was still able to become a Vice President despite his lack of a college degree. But the draw back there is that he did got the position after decades of service and just right before he retired. He was a secretary for 15 years because no one would think she has the capability and what it takes to be promoted but with hard work and time, he was able to prove them all wrong. But had he taken some college courses none of these would have happened. Like normal, usual he would have been promoted after just a few years and have gotten that Vice President position even at his 50's.

This is a lesson to many people thinking of whether they will continue their education to finish college courses or be content with having a high school diploma. Certain websites will help them decide. Going to the internet for some guidance on whether to continue college or not will bring one a common answer. That would be yes. The answer is always yes. A person, especially in a world of competitive nature, every body should maximize their potential by getting all the education they can get and experience they can attain. It would be a different question if there is a disability involved. But otherwise, getting one of those college courses should always be the way to go.
