These little insects are so small that a microscopic lens is necessary to observe their physical presence. An allergic reaction that the body may have to scabies is extreme itching on your skin. In the upper epidermal layer of the skin, the mites crawl in and begin to live and breed. Scabies can be positively diagnosed by your doctor, and the test generally does not pose any high level of discomfort for most people. Whenever you start itching and the area contains a reddish rash, perhaps with pimples, you should suspect scabies and try to diligently remember who you might have had contact with that manifests the same condition. Your doctor will look at the area, and it may appear to be a rash that is red. It is not uncommon for pimple-like blemishes to appear throughout the rash area. The test is simple and relatively painless. The rash will be carefully scraped and the scrapings will be put on a microscope slide to be examined. The mites are too small to be seen with the naked eye and must be viewed under a microscope.

Just like any other living organism, the scabies mite will thrive in an environment that is conducive to life and multiplying. So of course there are primary locations on the human body that more scabies friendly than others. Both men and women can contract scabies very easily, though there are variations in body locations where this may occur.

Of all of the locations possible, the buttocks area is the most easily infiltrated by scabies on either males or females. Across the board, gender variations are the norm, except for this area of the body. The genital area, by far, is where scabies on men will be the most abundant. But in women, scabies will thrive on the sides of the breasts, at places where the bra line is located and near and around the nipples.

Two different scenarios exist when someone is infested with scabies. We've already given you the data earlier in this report about the time-line of symptoms for a first-time victim of this disease. A repeat infestation will cause the intense itching, which is the allergic reaction, very quickly after the mite burrows into the skin. The reason? Your body is now sensitized to the burrowing of the mite so reacts a lot faster. In all likelihood, in order to get rid of the mites, their eggs, and fecal matter, you will have to be treated. If you are lucky, you body will react to the mite infestation, via an allergic reaction, and eliminate the mite before it can cause problems. The odds that this allergic reaction will trigger your immune system and kill the mites are slim. The most likely situation is that you will have to go to your doctor.

Most people that get scabies must have this treated as quickly as possible as they will not be able to stand symptoms that progress. The reason the condition must be fixed is because of the extreme itching that everybody experiences with these little bugs. Scabies that are not treated over an extended period of time risk getting bacterial infections that can make their problem much worse. Bacterial infections can occur when the skin is scratched raw from the irritation and itching. As soon as the person is examined by a doctor, an accurate diagnosis will be rendered and treatment will be administered.
