Paintings are one of the oldest works of arts present. They have been famous since the old times and are popular up to this moment of time. They are the oldest way of knowing how ancient people have lived, and the oldest way of writing. Throughout human history, there have been so many forms of arts used like poetry, painting, and sculpture but painting has been one of the famous thru time, in the past and up to this present day. There are fewer poets that are present in our generation this day, there are few who do sculptures in the world, but painters are everywhere.

As you can recall in the past, cave people use to draw on cave walls to tell their story, their remnants are studied thru the paintings that they left. The Egyptian on the other hand paints their tombs and halls which tells a story also on how they lived and the expression of their emotions. But that does not end to that, paintings became more popular as time passes by. During the time of Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, Francisco de Goya and the others, paintings became more famous throughout the world. Famous work of arts is made not only in portraits but also in walls and frescos that shows their feelings and emotions. Their art work also is based on their life and the story behind it. They are also famous in their works like paintings about biblical story about Christianity. Examples of which are the Last Supper of da Vinci, and the frescos in Italy or Vatican that shows the relationship of human and God and the Saints that we have. The common medium used in frescos are oil paintings which made them last up to this present times. You would be amazed on how those paintings are made on ceiling and walls of churches and halls and you would really say that it's a masterpiece.

Today, even if some aspects of arts are less famous like sculpture and new form of arts are available like photography, painting has remained popular. Painting never faded and more and more people love the art of painting. Many of individuals use painting as a hobby and as profession in our time. There are a lot of art exhibits that we can see that showcase paintings, most of the displayed arts are paintings. And thru the art exhibits and paintings for sale, many individuals use paintings at home as home d�cor. There are also few individuals who can afford that make paintings as their collection that they value most.

Paintings before, now and for the future would be a form of arts that would never be forgotten. It can show how human life has been and how we depict human situations. Paintings may vary in style and in concept thru time but it is a medium of arts that shows the beauty of human imagination and creativity in their work of arts.
