The purpose of religious buildings is to surround worshippers with a magnificent enduring presence that should remind them of the enduring magnificence of the religious reality. This is, as the author noted, a two step process. But, when the power of the Universe invades the sanctity of these buildings, people inside, or outside watching the phenomenon, are getting a firsthand experience of the power of the Infinite. Additionally, the phenomenon is likely to continue to recur until either man learns to control the power of earthquakes, or until religious leaders sanction the building of environmentally safe structures. In either case, the solution to the problem involves a greater rapprochement between man and nature.

This is a conflict and resolution path which Great Sun predicted people will go through in the future. In retrospect, it must be said that his insight is very astute. The race of technological development, led by people who are heedless or insensitive to the surrounding universe, is bound to lead to multiple contrasting conflicts similar to this one. In fact, the author also talked about global warming, pollution of the environment, harmful additives in foods, and music with violent or depressive themes as other examples of the same phenomena. His hints about the end of top-down leadership, in which rulers try and substitute for the voice of nature, even hints at the spate of revolutions, the world is now seeing.
