You've all heard this articulating before, "You get what you pay for".
Well this is definitely true for health professional prescribed glasses and also
for buying cheap glasses online or at a high avenue outlet.
Cheap glasses and my personal knowledge

I've been in the optical business for over 15 years and I've
seen lots of cheap glasses. Individuals have brought cheap glasses
into the shops where I've been working to have them repaired.
In most cases it's been impossible to repair them because the
material the frames were made of was so substandard and cheap-- not a single thing
could be done. Of course the customer ended up buying another
pair of glasses. If they had bought a quality pair in the
first place it would have cost them a lot less funds in the
long run.

I know of a great case (and I'm sure you can think of one
yourself) of some thing costly but have worked out to be of
great value over the years. Although this case in point isn't even
about cheap glasses-- it's still relevant.

My husband has a Snap-On posidrive screwdriver that he
bought over 30 years back. It still looks brand new, even
though it has had a lot of use over the years. It does exactly
what it's supposed to do. It feels comfortable to hold and
work with and it's the one that we always use when we need
to use a screwdriver. The metal head of the driver is still
like new. The cheap screwdrivers bought over the years have
been thrown away after very little use, as the head of the
cheaper screwdriver has donned down, making it pointless.

My father's friend used an expression a few weeks ago that
I 'd never ever heard of-- but the theory is exactly the same,
"Pay cheap, buy .. times". That's exactly right.

If you are going to be buying cheap prescribed glasses-- shop around by all means, but beware of opting for very
cheap frames-- there's a reason that they are so cheap.
The frames to look for are quality frames, but at a reasonable
price. This way you can be assured that your glasses are
of good quality, and aren't going to break after just a few months.
