So, What's the importance of using headlines? You know if no one views your marketing then you've just wasted time and money. In your marketing, the headline attracts people. That's the first thing people see in order to pull them in to your marketing piece. Good marketing content is useless without a headline that makes people want to read it. This real estate training will get you writing more effective headlines for your marketing.
Headlines are used on things like a post card mailer, a video on YouTube, status posts on Facebook or Twitter, or the subject line for an email to your database or leads. So, in this real estate training, let's focus on how you craft a good headline that will excite the reader to action.
First of all, you're asking them to do something. Right? Your headline entices the person to view that video, read that email, or look at the postcard. The content that you have is also there to get them to do something like call you for an appointment or visit a website.
You're going to identify two things about your marketing content. The first is to identify the major problem or pain that your content will help the recipient avoid? The second is to identify the most compelling benefits about your content to the recipient. So, pain avoidance and benefits are your headline's focus. The interesting thing about headlines is that pain avoidance is actually more enticing to people than benefits. We could talk for a long time about why that is. Suffice it to say that if you focus a large amount of your headlines for your marketing material on pain avoidance you should have more responses from those who view your marketing. You're going to get them engaged in your content. This is what the headline does.
Let's go over a few examples. We'll start with pain avoidance for a marketing piece that will go to potential short sale clients. The first is, "Learn the 5 Biggest Mistakes Home Owners Make When Facing Foreclosure and How to Avoid Them." That's avoiding pain right. The second example for pain avoidance is, "10 Things you must know before you apply for a load mod." Lot's of people want to modify their home loan because they don't want to lose their house. Little do they know that selling their home is actually, the majority of the time, what they'll end up doing because they can't get a loan mod. So, that's really where your content will lead them. If you're targeting short sale listings, make sure to get lots of real estate training. There is much you can share with homeowners.
Here's a couple examples for benefit oriented headlines that will go to potential short sale clients. Number 1 is, "3 easy steps to find out if you can qualify for a loan mod." It's exciting to people to find that out. These 3 steps are really determined by your experience. If you're using this as a headline, you've really got to know what these 3 things are. This example can also be used as a template to create headlines for any type of marketing content. This goes for marketing to sellers, buyers, investors, and so on. Number 2 for a benefit oriented headline is, "10 Insider Secrets to Successfully Short Sale Your House." Here you're portraying to them that this is information they can't get anywhere else. That's exciting and enticing to them. Remember, these are only a few examples.
