What do brochures and flyers do that newsletters cannot? Actually, a newsletter can perform better as marketing tool compared to these too especially if your intention is long-term promotion. Just as brochures and flyers promote your company, products or services, newsletters do the same and then some. What differs is the frequency of the promotion.

While producing brochures and flyers are done only occasionally, newsletters are made available to the consumers on a regular basis depending if it is weekly or monthly. Not only does it update the public about the company's newest offerings but it also educates them in certain ways. A health store that sells supplements may release a weekly newsletter that features their latest products and other articles that gives tips on how to have healthy living. It also does intense promotion on a certain product by publishing latest researches on the specific ingredient that the product contains convincing consumer that buying the product is not only highly recommended but a must.

Often, it also serves as a medium to communicate with the company's customers. It can also be an informative avenue for promoting upcoming events to be conducted by the company. The list of advantages goes on and it only proves that newsletters, although old-fashioned is still the ultimate method to use in promoting the company.

Newsletter as a marketing technique can be more costly however compared to brochures and flyers because of the need for an editorial body to produce a weekly-or a monthly. Looking at the brighter side, companies issuing this have higher profit potential that those that conduct one-time or occasional promotion.

It does not take away the fact that no matter how old-school newsletters can be, it is still one of the most highly appreciated forms of marketing that many companies are still utilizing.
