Second, the animals were given their place in the zodiac based on when they arrived to the event or which place they received in the race. Third, the rat achieved first place through catching a ride on the ox.

The dog is known to be a very loyal person. He is honest, smart, and straightforward. Dogs have a good sense of right and wrong, but they can also be too idealistic and self righteous.

They are friendly and humble at their best. But they can also be stubborn and pessimistic at their worst. If in doubt, look to a real dog for a great representation of the qualities of the dog sign.
