2012 Paradign Shift and the Protests in Egypt and Libya

In a contagion of revolutions, similar in some respects to the European revolutions of 1848, first Tunisia than Egypt and now Libya are being shaken by uprisings that has already deposed one dictator and now threaten to depose the 42 year dictatorship of Muammar Gaddafi of Libya. Like the uprisings of 1848, these uprisings are fueled to a large extent by economic discontent of the middle and lower classes who are demanding governmental reforms to ease their situation. The masses find the dictators inflexible and have toppled Mubarak of Egypt and are now targeting Muammar Gaddafi .

Perhaps, wisened by the fate of royal predecessors in the 1848 revolutions, the Middle Eastern Monarchs are quick to make the necessary concessions to the discontent and have been relatively untouched by the wave of protests.

While social and economic discontent, including extreme poverty, are named as the major causes of the Middle Eastern revolution, at least one author, Eden Moon, Compiler a book on 2012 transformations, proposes another deeper theory. According to this author, the wave of revolutions are a change leading up to the universal transformation that will take place when the Mayan Long Count Calendar system reaches the end of its cycle on Dec. 21, 2012.

The connection between the current wave of protests and the Mayan calendar cycle is related to a paradigm shift which experts expect to occur as we move into the next era of Mayan time. In the future, each individual will have a personal connection to the universe rather than relating to the universe through an intermediary person or religious or political system. This increasingly plutonium approach to life cannot tolerate inflexible dictators.

The Mayan calendar system cosmology also talks about the overthrown of a great dictator. According to Mayan teachings, Seven Macaw will be overthrown at the end of this cycle of time. Seven Macaw displaced One Hunahpu as head of the celestial hierarchy at the beginning of this era, and will be fully deposed when the Winter Solstice Sun, symbolizing One Hunaphu, conjuncts with the dark rift of the Milky Way, known to modern scientists as Sagittarius A, the black hole in the center of our galaxy.

The dark rift is a symbol of primal nature, and the conjunction of the Sun with the black hole brings about the renewal of the Sun, a reminder that the Sun itself is just part of nature and not something to be worshiped in and of itself.

Causes and consequences are in reality complex chains of events. The possibility that this astronomical transformation is feeding into the current wave of revolution does not in any way negate the theories proposed by economic and political scientists, Rather, a universal paradigm shift can alter, in a very subtle way, people's perceptions of events. After all, not every economic downturn causes a contagion of revolutions.

Whether or not the astronomical changes will make life after 2012 intrinsically different, the actual process of contemplating the end of a 5,176 year cycle of time, and changes in the stars that go with it, is enough to give each man, at least for a while, a new perspective and sense of being alone with the universe. That moment of maturity is enough in and of itself to make each participant more critically discerning about the social, religious and political forces that shape his life.

Great Sun, author of the Viking release "Super Life Secret Codes," is another author who talked about the 2012 paradigm shift. In a letter to religious leaders, found in the appendix of his book, he writes that in the future mankind will be able to "connect to the Universe directly."
