It is possible for anyone to have cholesterol blood testing, though it is most important for people in certain high risk groups. As alluded to above, those who are overweight or classed as being clinically obese will likely be invited to attend.

People suffering from heart stroke, artery disease of the leg and other heart diseases should also do the test. People belong to families in which cardiovascular disease is present for generations are also advised to go for screening.

Other people who are advised to do the test regularly are those who have diabetes. It is important because the two conditions often depend on one another. If you have issues with your thyroid or kidneys, it should also make you consider the screening.

Older people have more risk of having cholesterol levels more than the comfort level than the young peoples. Every person above forty years of age should undergo the cholesterol blood testing. The people who are taking healthy diet and doing physical exercise continuously should not have any issues however.
