Whole wheat breads, cabbage carrots, wheat bran, apple, barley, strawberries, and beans are recommended examples of both types of fiber.
Snacks are typically full of sugar and fats. A handful of nuts is a great snack and has contains the good fats and fiber. Try some peanuts, pecans, pine nuts, or hazelnuts. Walnuts and pistachios are known to have positive effects.
A variety of fish can be eaten to supply the fish oil. The oil contains omega 3 fatty acids and have other positive effects on the body. They help reduce blood clot risk and blood pressure. Foods high in this are salmon, sardines, mackerel, halibut and herring. Supplements can be taken instead but need to be of high quality.
Following a low cholesterol diet can really be a lifesaver. It can be lowered by up to 20 percent with just a few dietary changes. It is worth it to avoid being one of the millions cut down by heart disease each year.
