Transportation is one of the significant elements that keep us going in this world. There is a need to move from one place to another to suffice our necessities, and merely staying at home won't do us any good. Hence, this is the biggest problem being faced by handicapped people. Since their movements are limited by their wheelchairs and since the world that they are living in are made for the able ones who are not confined to any crutches or wheelchairs, it is quite a dilemma for them to travel from one place to another. However, one answer that can be seen to address this dilemma is by having a wheelchair van.
It is a fact that most of the vehicles that can be seen running on the streets are manufactured to suit the needs of the majority of the people in this world who are the perfectly able ones. Given that the disable people belong to the marginalized sector of the society and remain to compose about less than10% of the population, it can be said that they are disregarded in one way or another. Despite the efforts of the state and some private sectors to mold the world we are living in to somehow conform to the needs of the handicapped people by creating ramps and having more spacious elevators, these efforts are still not enough, for what they also need is to be able to get transported from one place to another. It won't be an issue if they only need to travel from one street to the other, but when it comes to traveling from one town or state to the other, that would be quite a hefty problem. The bigger picture here is that even car manufacturers are not producing vehicles that are designed to cater to the needs of the disabled people.
Although the government has tried recreating city buses and even school buses to allow those people on wheelchairs to travel from one place to another and although there have been bus manufactures that are incorporating designs to meet the needs of the handicapped people, this is still not enough for it is an obvious argument that not all handicapped people can even try to buy a bus for their own convenience. Thus, what is needed is a more personalized vehicle that could enable them to be transported. The common car is not enough for this since the wheelchair can't fit in the car unless folded, but what is more appropriate is a van that can definitely transport the person on wheelchair without the hassle of removing that person from the wheelchair and folding the wheelchair to fit the van. This is basically the works behind a wheelchair van, for it is designed perfectly to suit the needs of the handicapped people.
With a wheelchair van, the person on a wheelchair won't have to worry about moving from one town or city to another most especially if there is a need to go to that particular place. Besides, it would be an utmost convenient ride for that person if he would be on this special van.
