Have you recently jumped into the F1 craze? Then it should be helpful if you learn the heroes of the sport first before worshipping the hottest if not most popular driver of the current season. All Formula one drivers have the passion, intelligence, and skill that put them where they are right now, but there really are very rare people notable to be placed in encyclopedia and history books. Discussed below are the greatest.
No one can ever forget the most attractive Brazilian driver that Formula 1 ever had-Ayrton Senna. The guy had a whopping 161 grand prix in his profile, 41 of which were won wherein 3 were championships-1988, 1990, and 1991. Senna became an iconic motor sport personality because of his dramatic death in 1994 during a race crash leading to the San Marino Grand Prix. Senna was one of the most dedicated Formula one drivers of all time as he inarguably had spent his racing career discovering his technical driving abilities and participating in the engineering of grand prix automobiles. He was one of the smartest, most skillful, bravest, and most daring men in Formula 1 history.
Another legendary driver was Jim Clark, a Scottish automobile genius who joined 72 grand prix, had 25 wins, and bagged 2 world championships-one in 1963, and the other in 1965. Jim Clark was often touted as the flying driver because of his smooth, fast, floating-like driving style. Lucky enough, he was reared with saloon cars and sports automobiles as a child, a fate that later brought him to the pinnacle of motor sport. He obtained his first championship in the Belgian Grand Prix in 1963 wherein he drove more than 8 miles in race tracks that winded through dense and rainy forests. Clark had registered few and very minor accidents in his entire F1 profile, but it's ironic that he died in a car crash during a minor race.
If we're talking about Formula one drivers we should always save a slot for the Professor, French guy Alain Prost. Prost participated in more than 199 grand prix, got as many as 51 wins, and propelled himself to top podium four times-1985, 1986, 1989, and 1993. Prost was, in lack of words, the anti-thesis of many celebrated Formula One heroes. In his entire career he always remained cool, contained and silent, unlike the likes of Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher who loved expressing their madness and passion for the sport and telling the whole world about it.
No one can argue that German guy Michael Schumacher defines Formula 1. Schumacher was no doubt the most successful driver in motor sport, having joined more 250 grand prix with a whopping 91 wins-1995, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004. These and not mentioning that he had done several record-breaking feats in F1's history-just name a stunt and Schumacher had already probably attained it. For instance, in the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix, Schumacher became the driver who had most career race wins, most wins in one season, most pole positions, fastest laps, most podium finishes, and most of all, most championship titles.
