The trucking business has been moving off and on since the 1930's. The first big boom happened as a result of world War II. America needed more goods moved in America and around the world. There was a sudden truck application boom and the need for drivers.
Soon the truck logistics business would be a globewide venture that would employ many people. Gm launched a worldwide fleet that soon took hold and made truck commerce a staple to most areas around the world.
Most truckers hit the road every day moving industrial and commercial goods across the country. Drivers and the truck business is the backbone of America and without them much of the world would be less developed.
Some people see truck as a negative aspect in our globe but there are so many more positives from the trucking industry. trucking move life saving medical supplies and move goods when disasters strike like Katrina in 2005. Military truckers move whole bases and can be set up in a new area overnight or within days! Drivers also move houses and the good needed to build them.

Mechanics, software developers, and you can't forget truck stop attendants! There are many companies out there that forward applications to many companies.
With tighter regulations and a changing globe it is becoming harder on truckers to pay for expenses involved with becoming green. Independent owner operators are having a rough time keeping up with such crazy high gas prices.
It will not be long until more truck companies swap to ethanol-based fuel. As production and technology increases the cost will get cheaper! The companies will save millions and the environment will be such a cleaner place. Plus if will be easier to meet regulations and will mean fewer fines for drivers.
Could you imagine if you were paying half the price for fuel? It would be such a greener and brighter world in many ways. It is tough times for much of the truck business as gas prices rise and the economic depression hits harder. Many predict only the top trucking companies will survive through the currently depression. Hang in there driversit will not be long till the prices drop and driverscan make a living.
