A website wireframe is basically a non-graphical layout of a webpage. It specifies the placement of page elements such as headings, sub-headings and text, as well as the location of certain graphic elements such as the business logo. Note that with wireframes, you are supposed to take care of the lay-out, so leave out unnecessary visuals. Just use lines for content and boxes for images. Another key point to keep in mind is that; your wireframe should be developed with the target 'user' in mind.

That way, you'd be able to process input from various points in real time and avoid having to wait to receive replies.

Making a website wireframe can be as simple as drawing a few lines on a piece of paper; however, coming up with a good wireframe takes careful thinking, as well as collaboration, when so needed. But when you do it right, you will be saving yourself from a lot of post-launch tweaking and editing.
