- Headless Nailers. If you are a craftsman and you need to secure your projects but you still want to have a smooth finish, you should consider buying a headless nailer. This nailer used a kind of heavy duty pins which look like nails without heads, thus the name headless. When you drive the pin or nail into the wood, the hole created by the nail is almost invisible, which makes it easier for craftsmen to cover it with something like paint or putty.
