This is where the difference between a cutting saddle and the reigning saddle comes in. It is alright for a cutting saddle to have a higher horn or swell.

5. The stirrup leather should be positioned forward to help the rider maintain his or her balance when the horse stops abruptly or turns sharply.

6. As for the leather's material, it should have a thin and flexible leather finish to prevent for easier maneuvers.

7. There are also suitable rigging methods that should be done to have a perfect fit for both the horse and its rider. There are rigging types that are made specifically on the type of activity that the rider and the horse is set to do.
