Yo Gabba Gabba is completely completely different from any cartoon show currently on the air. It's a recent and inspired clash of generations and cultures that fuses retro sensibilities, dance culture and, incredibly, fun. Not since Pee-Wee's Playhouse has there been a show that is this cool and fun and different that it appeals to both adults and children. Yo Gabba Gabba also has components of vintage Sesame Street, U.P.A., and Electric Company. Viewers are approached as if they need minds. They're allowed to have interaction on their own terms with the show's numerous segments.

Moderated by a bright orange attired and wigged DJ name Lance, Gabba (a nod to The Ramones) is like having you cake and eating it too. Along the approach you meet 1 / 4 of friendly monsters, learn to draw from a guy from the new wave band Devo, do some dancing with Elijah Wood and other children, watch some strikingly original animation (done by the likes of Joel Trussell, Nick Cross and different indies). In brief, Gabba is regarding joy. Positive, there are lessons learned about life, but they're not hammered into the kid (or parent). The characters don't shout at you wish you're an idiot. The unhappy state of most kids' TV animation causes you to wonder if the creators were ever children. Perhaps that they had miserable childhoods and decided to possess revenge on humanity by creating a gentle stream of puerile, droning and agonizing screams and visions that feel a lot of sort of a sampler from the dark facet, than a life here and now.
