I am a left handed golfer and in my day, I have dug in many bargain bins at the driving range and the pro shop, and have only rarely found a left handed club. The internet was not available when I started out so my options were very limited.

There is quite a bit of engineering involving flexibility and weight distribution involved. The end effect of this was to cause many lefties to play golf right handed. Golf courses are designed for the right hand golfer. The origin of the word :"left" was "sinistral" meaning evil. I know my teachers tried their best to get me to switch. I am glad I was stubborn!

Although you probably feel perfectly normal in using your left hand, it is likely that you've grown up with unfair comments among the group of right-handed people. Scissors are for right handers. When my wife bought our son a pair of left handed scissors for school, it was the first I had ever seen. Remember the old manual can openers? Try using those left handed and you may very well stab yours elf in the stomach. That is just the way it is. Just remember, we are the only ones in our right mind!
