Choosing the kind of vertical blinds to use in your home or office usually depends on how you see your blinds fitting in with your decor and what kind of ambiance you want to have for the room these blinds will be put in. There are two choices you can choose from and these include what are called stack draw and split draw. When window blinds are stack drawn, this means that they can be opened with the slats going to one side only and you get to choose whether these blinds are stack drawn to the left or stack drawn to the right. Usually, when your blinds are stack drawn, the cord that opens these blinds up is often found on the side where they are drawn to.

When your vertical blinds are split drawn, this means that when you pull the cord to open these blinds up, it opens up in the middle. The slats of your window blinds will then be found on each side of your window or sliding glass doors. This type of drawing for your blinds makes it seem like you have drapes on your windows.

Aside from the different draw directions and types for your blinds, you can also choose to have your vertical blinds be manually operated or remote control operated. Some people have a remote controlled mechanism installed for their blinds to be opened with convenience. This mechanism that is installed in the head rails may be somewhat expensive but is something that a lot of people appreciate having. You can operate the opening and closing of the slats for letting in light or for keeping out light with the remote control. You can also draw your blinds to whichever side you have it programmed to be drawn with the use of this remote controlled device as well.
