The small bamboo sticks are wrapped together tightly. From afar, they look like long matchsticks woven side by side to make one wooden sheet. As these window shades can be bought cheaply, it is okay to use them outside. One can use them outside large windows in the patio or porch as a shield against the sun or to keep the rain from getting inside. This type is also can stand against strong wind as it can just pass through between the weave. The simple construction of the shade remains durable despite being exposed constantly to the elements.
