Gasoline-electric hybrid cars also have batteries and generators, which use the motion of the car to make electric current and store it in the batteries, which makes them more energy efficient. Some hybrid cars also consume ethanol as a fuel source, yet the limited availability of ethanol as a fuel source, limits their functionality and efficiency.
